can this port be used for a temp. sending unit? or is there a better place? if so what threads is it. and is there a place for an oil sending unit? 700 xtx thanks

That looks a bit like the bleeder screw. Unscrew it a little and see if there is a rubber o-ring just under the head of the screw. Be careful not to over tighten this screw because it is hollow in the middle to allow venting and can break easy. It is a little different on my XTZ 1000 but similar looking. I would leave that alone and get the UTV crap inline set up. That's what i am running and it seems to work well.

here are a few pics of my gauge install. got the gauges from autozone there made by snapon and seemed to be fairly water tite. got the steel 1" hose barb from Lowes for a 1.70 and taped 1/4" pipe thread in it then welded a metal eyelet on for the ground wire. on the oil pressure I teed into the oil filter housing (lower fitting is pressure side) where the oil cooler tubes are attached. about 10 in fittin pic 1.jpg

messed up the last sentence. $ 10 in fittings and $ 40 for each gauge.
