Need help guys and gals

I cleaned my clutch and now machine won't go above 25 mph with it floored.

Took it back apart and clutch is working as it's supposed to

It's like the brakes are locked but I can roll it around with one hand.

Only two things I can think of, the one way bearing is screwed up or I've read where someone put the clutch back together and tighten down the nut, turned out the belt was actually too low between the plates keeping it from being tighten all the way. Then when you drive the belt never moves up and down right.

Are you able to get your rpms up or is it bogging down the engine?

bogging engine

I've got the clutch cover off now and the belt is traveling as it's supposed to.

One way bearing was fine prior to cleaning clutch

Engine seems to rev fine when in neutral

I'm guessing that your machine ran fine prior to the clutch cleaning?

Yes, I ran it around the block this spring getting things cleaned up and I didn't have to give it much throttle to get it going but in town never got up to any full runs.

But I've got it floored now and only getting to 25

Alright just went for a spin and I managed to get to 40 but it was struggling to get there.

It act like it's starving for air, either in or or but I took the air cover off and no change, pulled the spark arrestor and no change

I get an occasional backfire also

I just changed the oil as well but even if it was the wrong oil it shouldn't cause this.

Could plugs cause this? Only 900 miles on machine but don't know how long that one spark plug boot was broken and still haven't gotten to the rear one.

Could they have hidden that one a little more????

Fuel filter is on the pump isn't it?

It should be mounted under the passenger seat on the frame member.

My line comes straight off the fuel pump to a splitter for the fuel injection

Looked at the parts diagram for 2010 XTZ's, two versions of the fuel system are shown. One with a filter, and one without. There are two different fuel pumps. Vin number 302025 and up use the fuel system that does not show an external fuel filter, so if they have one it must be on the pump. Take the fuel line off the splitter and see how much flow you have, and check the pressure.

I'll have to check but I don't believe it has a release on the split. You'd have to unhook from both injectors or find a way to read it off the pump fitting

Thank you all for the help

Set of plugs and it's up to 70 mph again. Could have went faster but had no floor and seat was only set in place for the test run.

Now I get to put it all back together again.
