Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2012 Arctic cat Prowler 550. The original motor failed and I purchased a used 2009 700 and the rocker arms were bad. I pulled the cam and rocker arms out of the 550 and installed them on the 700. I got it running and it ran well but the rocker arms wore within a short period of time. I lashed the valves correctly. I did some research and saw that sometimes the gear used to drive the oil pump would fail and allow oil at an idle and not supply efficient oil during normal operation. I pulled the engine out and got to the oil pump gear and there was nothing wrong with it. No wear perfectly engaged. I pulled the oil pump out and from what I can tell there is no visible bluing or galling in the pump. I don't know where to go next with this. The only other issue is sometimes it loses spark which I can pull the stator out of the 550 for that.
Is it possible the clutches are failing and that grit is getting to the upper end or a possible blockage on the oil filter and it is bypassing?
Any insight would be appreciated
