Is Trickle Charging mandatory?

I've got a 2011 Artic Cat ATV 550 TRV and during is non-usage time, it needs to be on a trickle charger or a solar panel. Was told its background electronics are always idle / ON (even if ignition key turned off) and in 3-4 weeks, its battery is self drained too low. Yes. My ATV had a few previous dead battery moments as well. Sad Face. For it, I NOW have it on a 1.5A trickle charger via ambilocal cord to its battery.

For my UTV 2019 Textron (Arctic Cat) Prowler Pro 800, does it need to be on a trickle charger during is non-usage time as well? If yes, I can connect with same ambilocal cord trickle charger setup up as well. Or if Solar Panel is better, what solar panel size do you guys recommend?

thanks.

Update:

This morning, I installed a short ambilocal cord and removable trickle charger on my Prowler Pro's 12V battery. Simple setup - like my 2011 ATV 12V battery. Does it really need it? Not too sure but Amazon sells low cost trickle chargers - for peace of mind. Especially during deep cold winter months - in my north region.
Normally I don't use one, just start it up and let it run a little while. But during the winter I use one just to top off the battery after plowing snow, running the winch and lights can really drain the battery.

The "corded" Trickle Charger I bought from Amazon.ca is shown below...

So far it' been working great.

The other day I got very tired of installing / removing a 110/120V electrical extension cord to use the above post's 1.5A Trickle Charger. Instead of a corded system, I installed a cordless 9W Solar Panel tickle charger instead. re: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81vE6ifc7zL._AC_SL1500_.jpg Yes. No more cords to "hassle" with. Hope this solar panel system works better in the long run....

Started mine this morning and the Volt message came on. I have it plugged in now but I have a small solar charger (only 2.4 watt) I think I'm going to hook up to help boost when outside, most of the time it's stored in our garage.
Reading solar panel charger reviews on Amazon, I see many folks recommending to use 9W or more solar panel systems. Lower wattages (like 3.5W) cannot keep up to many 12V batteries. Especially if factory electronics have parasitic drain - like the Arctic Cat ATVs/UTVs...
