Hey guys.

Just got the Cat back from Trevor at Aluma-Art and thought I would post up some picture. The entire rear section of the car is aluminum now. He built me a tool box / Cooler, spare tire mount and some gas can mounts. All off these components are held in by Dzus fasteners and can be removed individually in a matter of minutes. Let me know what you think good or bad.

Thanks.

Yes I have a sickness for crafty aluminum work. LOL :D

The license plate only tells the truth when I am daily driving the car. If a Razor or any other car that looks fast rolls up on me I simply turn a knob and then the number on my plate means nothing! :D

nice very nice

So status update.....
Your car is out of the garage and tearing up the dune's?
Well it's out of the garage and tearing up the neighborhood. I have been tuning with the lap top up and down my road for a few hours. It's way to hot for the dunes right now. I mostly do desert riding but I might start hitting the dunes next season. The car is running very well considering it's 110 degrees outside. I went back to a single auto tune with the PC5 and added a GM 3 bar map sensor and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. I am running the auto tune via pressure based so it is spot on at every throttle and rpm position. So far so good. I need to get Johnny to make me some UHMW skid plates to take off the overweight aluminum plates I have now. I might drop t off for some 1 off skid plates as know one seems to make the UHMW plates for the Prowler 1000. I am heading to Crested Butte Co next month with my dirt bike but i am going to bring the XTZ to see how the turbo likes altitude. When it cools down here in September I will tear the car apart and powder and paint and then ride the **** out of it until the motor fails an then figure out what has 4 wheel drive and will adapt to this chassis.

Thanks for the words. It has been a very long 3 year project fixing things that were done wrong and braking parts and making things stronger but I am seeing the light now.

Send some of that retirement money to AZ and I will make it flex for you! lol

I am tired of spending believe me. I still need to powder coat and paint it. I figures about $3,000 for that then I am done.

UHMW I have been looking for a nice set of those skid's for a couple day's.

Guess I can stop now.

I have been thinking of using the stock one's as a template and building my own. I got 2pc's 2x4x1/2" to build my doors and only used 1 of them.
Think I paid $250 for them.
I will look into where the air boaters are getting their big pieces from as that is what they line the bottom of their boat's with.

What do you think for size? 3/8" or 1/2"
I am on my 3rd side belly and inner fender panel.

Lots of rocks and log's here to put a hurting on the stock skid.

What are you thinking for a color scheme?

I am thinking 3/8 thick would be good. Here is a company that sells raw material. I think you can heat this stuff to mold it and bend it.

uhmw: InterStatePlastics Search Results.

I don't know on the color scheme yet. I like a simple and classy look. Maybe 2 colors or something. Any ideas for me?

You are right Gary. I went back and reread a few of my previous posts and I must have said that I am nearly done and only a few grand away from the end at least 10 times.
