Hey Prowler Crew - I'm new to the forum and also new to the realm of Arctic Cat. I am quad rider and not an expert on sxs equipment by any means. I'm sure I'll need lots of questions answered along the way here.

My Dad just bought a 2016 HDX 700 yesterday and he wants to set it up for plowing. It seems that there are less options for the 2016-2017 HDX's as far as 3rd party products. Do any of you have recommendations for a nice quality plow set up that's going to be nice to the frame, easy to install, and not going to break the bank? I called Motoalliance yesterday and they don't have a confirmed fit for their plows on the 2016. The customer service rep said she would be happy to sell me one from the previous model and I could test fit for them. If it doesn't fit, they would send a call tag for the return. While this is a nice gesture, I live 3 hours away from my Dad's machine.

Thanks in advance for any help here.

Jason

Hi there and welcome to the site. You are correct, there is very little aftermarket support for our machines. Your best bet is to get one from you Arctic Cat dealer.

Welcome Jason! Great site, great members! I heard Kolplin has plows for the newer machines. They do have a pretty good product line on other stuff!

Thanks for the welcome and response. He is driving home with it right now. Based on what I've seen, I think the AC plow is pretty good bang for the buck since the dealer will give him 15% off accessories and ship them to his house. He bought it 4 hours from home (for him). I think he got a pretty good deal. $10K for an executive machine with 78 miles on it.

Sounds like a great buy! My Prowler is my first, and more than likely last UTV! It suits my needs perfectly!

Welcome to the forum! I agree, if your not sure of the fitment, go with the A/C kit. Make sure to keep the battery well charged (on a maintainer) for plowing season, and let the battery catch up between sessions. Under severe blading, the plow draws so much that it will kill the battery. The charging system won't keep up with it. I found out the hard way last years first plowing session, about 6 miles from home and no cell phone! New alternator now, (thanks RD) and will continue to carry my jumper box, too.

LOL go straight blade. I went the V-Plow route, had to replace the front shocks to support the plow.

V-Plows are also picky for the correct chassis height or you will have the V digging in or sitting in the air.

350lb springs are too strong since V down and the wingtip in the air at zero Preload. :(

I updated my signature but it doesn't seem to show up. Is there a setting that I don't have correct?

EDIT: Nevermind... it is showing now on the current post but doesn't go back an update on the original post. Thanks for the help.
