Hey guys, new to the prowler forums, but got a question, the rear end started poping( it was even doing it with stock tires) and I was going through a small mud whole in high rang and it starting poping again and about the time I could get in 4 wheel drive and gave it alittle gas to try to crawl out without breaking somthing but it popped and popped then an axle broke and I was trying to take it easy, my experience with this machine is not starting good, I would like to fix these issues because I really would like to prove people wrong about the cat. Any suggestions would be thankfull

Sounds to me like the spike load damper.

The popping noise would be it slipping and re-grabbing.

Did you buy the machine used?

The 2011 sld is a clutch pack instead of the pin setup in the 2010.
There is also a delete kit soazcat posted a link think D&P performance is the company making the delete kit.

I bought it new bit the place I got it from had it a long time and put a extended warranty on it, its still under factory warranty. So I need to get a diffrent transfer case, because even with the stock tires it was popping when going uphill and now I am using mud tires and it pops all the time

No transfercase in a prowler.

Sound to me like Spike Load Damper.

Easy fix, You can weld yours solid if you want.

Check highlifter forum or arcticchat forum for the details.

I have had VERY good luck with the new updated stock white cup axles.

My old machine I broke 3 rears.
Then started getting the white cups from dealer and have never busted one since.

My 2011 has the original white cups and holding strong!

And with the SLD causing the axle failure they will most likely give you a white cup under warranty.

I Ran the 27" mudlite xtr's and the 27" bighorn 2.0 with no problems.
