I have a new to me 2011 HDX 700 and I’m adding a second battery and isolator. After weighing the options between putting it in the front storage or the pod in front of the rear wheel, I went with the latter.
I know others have gone this same route. My question is did you add any additional structural support to the pod since it’s only attached to the body and frame with a couple screws and a bolt? Batteries are heavy and I’d hate it all to break loose on the trail.

I think several people have gone this route, hopefully they will offer advice!

I wound up welding a vertical support to the factory storage bracket. Also added a third screw where the pod attaches to the frame. Maybe this will help someone in the future.
