Is the secondary clutch spring supposed to be wound 1/3turn when you go back together with it?

I am in B-1 should I be winding it to get pre-load on the spring or just plush it down and back together?

Thanks

it is supposed to be set at B-1. and yes when you tighten it down you will need to turn the helix against the upper movable sheave about 1/3rd turn to align it up. that is "clocking" the spring giving the spring tension against the clutch shoes which will snap the secondary shut when you let off the throttle.

make sure all 3 of those rounded shoes are indeed rounded. if they have flat spots on them they will need replacing. having flat spots worn onto them cause more friction between the shoe and the helix than needed and will adversely affect your backshifting and upshifting.
