Shreadded Tranny Gears...........

Haven't cracked the case yet, but pretty sure I smoked some gears in the tranny. I pulled the motor this weekend, and am having a buddy look at it this week. I think it may be the reverse bevel gear. I heard there are some known issues with that thing. That makes one top end, and one tranny so far. It ran great when I up graded the top end to the 670 kit, high comp piston and stage 2 cam. I think it will be fine after the gear(s) that are broken get replaced. Then it is going up for sale so I can get the new 1000 I reserved.......................

Nothing that exciting I'm afraid. My kid was driving it around up in the mountains earlier this summer and realized he was in low gear the whole ride. When he tried to put it into high, it wouldn't go. He forced it into high, it made a huge grinding noise, and the motor has not started since. That is the story I got from him anyways..............
Let me ask this question. Is there speed range for low gear? Like it's recommended to only go 25mph in low and if your riding 10 and under don't drive in HI???

Well the good news is the tranny is fine in Prowler. The bad news is that the rest of the motor is shot. My kid was apparently going way to fast to be in low gear. The motor got really hot, blew the head gasket, melted the crank, parts and pieces everywhere. Anyways, I have a replacement motor on the way. Much cheaper to find a take out motor than to rebuild the old one. No more kids in my Prowler. Especially the new one!!
