I use my 2019 Prowler Pro 3-seater for local corn / cattle fields, local mild trails, family outings for brunch and road usage (to get to/from these different locations). My UTV has DRL (re: low beam LED headlights are always on) and it has slow moving sign on its rear tailgate as well. Yes. Minimum things for a farming tool to be on my region's country roads.

Was thinking of buying / installing a low cost universal Street Legal Kit from Amazon. re: horn, reverse lights, turn signals and 4 ways. Anyone buy / install / use a road kit on their UTV? How do you like it? Thanks....

Update:

Mrs. Santa bought Amazon listed street legal kit (that I saved last night in its wish list). Plan to install this spring - during warmer weather. Also bought side mirrors for my Prowler UTV as well. Since we're used to using side mirrors in pickups, driving a UTV with NO side mirrors is a weird thing. Thus, Mrs. Santa online ordered side mirrors for our UTV as well. Smiles....

Update:

My online ordered parts arrived. Basic "street legal" lighting/horn kit "dry tested" good on the kitchen table (using 9 Volt Alkaline battery). Extra orange LED round lights tested good and larger size clear reverse LED lights tested good as well. Ms. Santa re-packed these items under the tree - to be installed this spring (when weather is much warmer). Will keep you posted on my future install results (of its kept electrical items).....

Sad part... The universal mount side mirrors did NOT fit properly. The Prowler Pros roll cage pillar posts are weird shape (which makes it very hard to mount) and its optional soft door fabric edge is blocking its glass view. I like their outer shape but we must return them....

More to come this spring (in the warmer weather)....

Today was warm weather in my north woods and my older age knees, hips and back was feeling young. Thus, I was able to install 1 x ID bar (for future right rear signal) on my 2019 Prowler Pro. For mounting, I used a thick chunk of white plastic - left over from skating rink I built many years ago. Still need to duplicate on left rear side and connect their wires. See attachment for visual. Yes. Slow progress - but this DIY upgrade is moving forward....

I added turn signals to my old Prowler. I keep telling myself I need to add a backup light, just haven't got around to it yet.

... I need to add a backup light ...
After duplicating my Prowler's rear right signal light on its left rear side, my next component install task is to install 1 x reverse light in its rear center position. I Amazon bought 2 x thin profile 18W LED lights and plan to install only 1 light in the center - using the same thick white plastic mount as well. I will share/show future pictures of this DIY Reverse light upgrade as well.

For low profile Reverse light and its entire wiring diagram, see attachments.

Update:

This morning (with local good weather and low body pain), I was able to install the rear left turn signal light. See pic for visual. If body feels good after my after lunch nap, I'll try to install its center 1 x Reverse light today as well. Only time will tell...

Note:
  • I will install / connect their wiring later. Mounting the hardware items is phase 1.
  • Cosmetically, I'll leave the white plastic white. Or, I might paint to flat black colour.

My old 2007 Prowler didn't have any tail/brake lights in the bed, only one mounted on the roll cage. I cut holes in the bed and added 6" LED tail lights and wired them up for tail, brake, and turn signals. I also added 6" amber LED's for the front turn signals. I used an add-on automotive style turn signal switch to the steering column. I'll take some pics and post.

You did a great job installing lights on your older age Prowler. Yes. Installing lights can be creative and complex (and at times, a PITT - pain in the tail) ALL at the same time. Perhaps one day, ALL ATVs/UTVs will have street legal lighting - like the CF Moto ATVs.

After lunch and a short nap, I installed the 1 x reverse light on my 2019 Prowler Pro. All rear lights are now physically installed and their position tested with its tail gate in its up & down positions as well. Next tasks for the rear is to "wire them up". A completion task for a different day - when my back, knees and hips are less paining. For visual, see attachment.

Note: The reverse light has horizontal pivot bolts that allow the light to be manually adjusted to point level, on a 45 degree downward angle and if needed, adjusted almost at 90 degree down angle - to light up its trailer hitch area.

Next phase, physically install its front LED blinker lights (under each head light area). A future phase when my body is less paining....

These are the mirrors I put on my 2016 HDX, Amazon.com: Chupacabra Offroad - Rear View/Side UTV Mirrors with SPOT Mirror - High Impact Right & Left Side Mirror Kit for 1.6" - 2" Roll Cage - RZR Can Am Yamaha Honda Arctic Cat : Automotive I also put a rear view mirror inside, Amazon.com: Rear View Mirror UTV Accessories - Mirrors Best for Wide Angle Center or Side-by-Side Off Road Clear-View - High Impact ABS Housing & Universal Roll Cage Bar Mounts with Shatter-Proof Tempered Glass : Automotive The outside mirrors are pretty good, the passenger side is just partially blocked by the soft door but they have plenty of adjustment.

Thanks Dave59.

My 2019 Prowler Pro 800 has factory inside cab rear view mirror. Its solid mounted and NO vibrations (to blur its images). I'm used of driving a vehicle with side mirrors. If wondering, I ordered the same side mounted mirror as yours (re: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076NZ9TFS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but the Pro model does NOT have round pillar bars. They have different shape roll cage pillars. In many ways, I wish my soft cab was a "hard cab". With a hard cab, one can mount side mirrors made for golf carts on the hard door or on the pillar. re: They have a 3 bolt mounting base. For example: https://www.amazon.ca/Golf-Cart-Mirrors-Black-White/dp/B09BJFKMNS/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=350DTMTNHJRTE&keywords=golf+cart+side+mirrors&qid=1670553468&sprefix=golf%20cart%20side%20mirrors,aps,495&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExM0NIOFJZSU81WUpCJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTE3NDkxMTczVEZZOFJQRDhJOCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMTM5NTE3Mzc2NFlYMDlTMVZQSiZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= For now, we'll continue to use our factory's rear view mirror with NO side mirrors....

This morning I was able to create a cardboard template, mark/drill holes and physically install the front 3/4" orange blinker lights. Next task on a much warmer temp day is to glue their backside (to make their inserts more secure) and "wire them up". As per below, they look good.

Lesson learned (for folks doing the same), do NOT use a recommended 3/4" drill bit to drill the holes. Use a 11/16" size drill bit instead. Thus, making their insert hole tighter. One can always hand file a little larger size hole (if needed).

Update (and FYI if others do the same):

From now until this spring time (when my local weather is much warmer), I'll be buying / gathering "on sale" 12 & 14 gauge 12 Volt wiring. For future trouble-shooting (if needed), I plan to use same colours used on trailer wiring. Also plan to install "connect points" under its rear box area - in case I need to remove its rear box in future as well.

See pics for visuals.

Update (for install phase 1): Today (Jan 1) my local weather is above freezing. My back, knees, hips are feeling low pains this morning as well. Today, I will install the wires under its rear box area and create a connector area near its factory existing connector. Yes. One little short sprint "parallel wiring" task at a time. Some old retired racing turtle keeps telling me this. smiles...

Phase 2: Today, I completed the rear tail light wiring area. Got all its rear wires installed, installed in plastic loom, secured using pull ties, its black wires were frame grounded and its activation wires ready for their future connections (for its tilt box can be removed in future).

Phase 3: I removed its front hood, its front windshield, its front top external dash panel and removed its inside dash panel. Panel removals done to install/connect its front area wiring, install its front area horn device and feed all front wires into the inner cab area via through the top part of the firewall area.

With its firewall area now fully exposed (and clear visual look), I will also buy/install some heat shield padding / insulation - on its outer & inner firewall areas. This DIY insulation will reduce inside cab heat transfer from its front cooling rad (from it blowing fan) condition - which is a known weak design. Oh, the domino effect upgrades of a simple wire install.

Yes. Slow phases - due to my older age body pains...

Today I bought "on sale" needed electrical wiring rolls - in different colours. Gotta love Princess Auto and their on sale items. Still too cold for electrical tape to stick and/or Insulation foam adhesive to stick. Thus, I will need another month (or so) to continue this project. Slowly... One task at a time....
