OK, I am new to the AC brand. I have been indoctrinated by friends about rhinos/teryxs and rzrs...they're cool...the rhino is too slow for me and the rzr too tiny and the teryx is a newer rhino...

here is my issue...

i go to all these SxS sites looking for parts and they all have RZR and Rhino, even Ranger and teryx only sections....some dont even mention the AC name. I personally dont want to support a vendor/shop that doesnt acknowledge a decent sized brand ...this isnt a chinese made knockoff UTV here. I understand that maybe the sales have been smaller then AC would like. Obviously the 1000 is making an impression as i see more and more shops picking them up, which only helps us...still...do i shop at shops that don't acknowledge the brand? Do i support shops that dont support us?

Now is the time that good business will succeed and jerk off businesses will fail...we have all seen them, this economy will seperate them pretty fast.

Thoughts? Impressions? my head hurts...

I assume you are speaking of buying generic accessories that CAN work on the Prowler, since, if they don't support AC, they wouldn't carry specific parts for us.
Here is my take....Over the years, I have grown tired of shops that are more than happy to take my money only to turn me away when a problem arises (fitment, warranty, whatever). Anymore (to me), it is more about building a relationship with a vendor who listens to what we want, is responsive, and actually cares about their customer enough to provide support after the sale. I just don't see it making much sense buying from someone who has no interest in supporting the UTV we have chosen to own.
Hmmm. Made sense when I was thinking about it anyway....

Split I know your pain.I have been dealing with it for three years now.One example is i am running four fox shocks on my cat that are supposed to go on a rhino. They are front shocks all four of them.
I will say this though since the xtz a lot of these guys are getting on board. And in the early years of the rhino it started a little slow with the aftermarket till they realized how much demand there was.I don't think these guys are gonna miss the boat with you xtz guys.I am thrilled to know that some of the stuff will fit on my 06 650.

You guys are right. When we first became a Arctic Cat dealer in 07' we tried to work with suppliers to build exhaust, intakes etc..... and were blown off by MOST of them. Walker Evans listened and made the first shocks for my 650 I was racing at the time. All the exhaust guys thought that there was no market. I know the XTZ will change things with some of them. We will also start making proprietary parts from billet to suspension because many manufactures who sell to most shops out there and want us to purchase quantity will also sell direct. For the dealer, Why carry there product when they cut us out?

thanks for the responses guys. When i get into stuff i usually go all the way. I like to read about SxSs so i buy a magazine, i want to read a online review or talk and i go to a forum etc., i know it was a bit slow to take off as a sport, trust me, i sat on the side and thought, "who the hell would pay that much for one of those when i can buy a jeep or a dune buggy", well here i am.. :D I do appreciate the shops more that buy them, and fix them up and even in some cases (eg Prestigemike) race them...thats cool. Its hard to talk rhino lingo when you want to talk arctic cat!! ;) SChris, i feel for you brotha, thanks for being a pioneer! Its guys like you n Phatcat n glamprolr that pave the way for the rest of us...and guys like PMike that take our frustration and make it into useable parts! i see utv unleashed, prestige, utvcrap, dragonfire, sdhq and a few other vendors on these forums and thats who i want to give my business to...call me picky i guess! You guys start providing the parts and some service and i will buy from you. All i ask for is honesty and your word to stand behind what you sell...i'll even pay a few bucks more to know that you stand behind what you sell...!!!

until theres a demand its hard to stock or manufacture parts. on this site theres 256 members on yamaha rhino forum 11,500 members. hopefully the 1000 xtz and the new 2 year warranty will get the market going.
