Hey all, well after the debauchery that the winch caused last night, and with the help of the great people of this forum, I am making progress.

A week and a half ago, I ordered oil press. and coolant temp gauges along with a winch to install on the XTZ. The biggest thing being the coolant temp gauge as I was noticing that it is running awful hot, or at least seemed to be. 2 days after ordering the gauge kits and winch, I found coolant under it in the garage, low and behold, a faulty water pump. Perfect timing, with having to work on the coolant system for the temp gauge, I might as well drain it and replace the pump as well. After dropping a couple benjamins on the internet ordering parts and accessories. These are the projects I have going all at once now.

Gauge installs, for coolant temp and oil press.
- Autometer Arctic White Gauges. Model # 1337 and # 1327 respectively

Winch - KFI Stealth SE-45 with Synthetic rope
- Best price was found with free shipping from summitracing.com

New water pump. $235

I have included a few photos, and am going to try and write up a few how to's as I go along.

Gauges,
Daytime:

Nighttime

Missing water pump

Winch install, before determining that I needed to order a spacer kit

Front clip as of tonight:

More to come, many parts wont show until the end of this week or first part of next so ill get a few days off.
Thanks for the help!

7 years and only 1400 miles ..... geeees boy get off the computer and get to riding .... upgrades are winter time projects unless ya break down and have mandatory repairs

Bauer ... I didn't see anything about a spacer [must be a thread I didn't follow] ... reason for it ? [ I will do the 4500 lb KFI in the future also]

GTroyer, looks like certain models come with a different factory installed winch plate, it requires a Arctic cat part number 1436-405 spacer to essentially thicken the plate, and allow for mounting the roller fairlead. Ive got a few threads going here in the general discussions about winches, we hammered it all out in there.

Gone, no I am not, havent really given it much thought. Pros??? Cons??

pros

with your temp gauge you can turn your fan on before the thermostat kicks it on. Depending on the riding by the time your thermo kicks on its in catch up mode and may stay there.

the kit from UTV inc is relatively cheap(30 bucks) although you could prob build a harness for 20 bucks or cheaper. (spending money? might be a con...but not on this forum:D)

Cons

The pain of wiring in a switch.

Holy crap, could arcticcatparts.com be any slower in getting their stuff shipped out. It took 3 days from when I bought it to when I got confirmation from them that they had shipped it. I guess the prowler will be sitting for another week in the garage.

Heck that isn't bad. If you had ordered from Derby, you would probably still be waiting on that confirmation......
