I went to the dealers expo in Indianapolis this weekend and talked to jim from Bipolar Racing. He gave me a coule of hp tips for the xtz. We don't need them yet but someone will come up with something that will beat these things sooner or later. He said you can use the efi units from the 700 xt and put one on each cylinder of the XTZ and bump the horsepower up 25 ponies. He says it is a plug and play upgrade, and 25 horses is a heck of an improvement. What do you think Glamis? Oh ya and Dragonfire has an awsome long travel kit made from chrome moly now .

wow thats a serious claim...interested to see how the first CDI kits do..Glamisprowler said he was getting one setup but i think he only got the exhaust/intake done..that thing looks fast enough...waiting to hear a report from him on how that all feels..

i went on a kawasaki teryx this weekend. Down the fireroad we topped out at 52...i think that may be plenty fast!!

I do have my XTZ on order though from eaac.
thats what i need How do I get ahold of jim from bipolar ???
It needs to be done in conjunction with a fuel controller such as a Boondocker or Power Comander, and exhaust. The biggest PIA for me was the throttle cable set up. But it works!
Yep this is the hot ticket. talked to Jim about this. He has a bunch of secret stuff like this.

You actually order another throttle cable and just run 2 throttle cables to the pedal.

My daughter has been in surgery all day so i will be back with more input and some pics and video's soon.

She is doing fine just got her tonsils out.
Glad to hear your daughter's doing good. I talked to Jim about 20 minutes and yes he has a bunch of stuff. Relatively inexpensive and effective. He also told me something that was interesting. He said when you go messing with the clutches that most of the time it only succeeds in slowing the machine down. The clutches are good as they are. He said, and i don't think he would give me any proprietory information, The xtz that he raced at Baja had a stock clutch and motor. They kept it that way for reliability, and it worked great.Other than a fresh ailr intake on clutch housing it was stock and when they took housing cover off after race the belt was in good shape. He is a super good guy and it was a pleasure talking to him.

Sounds a little simplier than it is, but yes, this is how I did mine. I bought a second stock bracket that holds the cable at the firewall also. I welded the two together and then shortened the distance from the area where the cable snaps in - and where it meets the firewall, to compensate for the length of the stock cables. Then hot lead the two cable ends together and presto.. Of course you could make a whole new bracket from scratch..
Dont forget to synchronize the two throttle bodies when done also.
im not trying to say anybodys wrong I was playing with the clutchs yesterday and I ordered up some shims I can get more bottom end out of it for sure not that it needs it but since I have it apart why not and it does have pleanty of top end travel it looked to me like it might be good for 90 or so mph
jeez johnny youre crazy man! 90mph? did u built a score 4inch thick cage or what?
Hey phat cat what kind of power increase would you say the dual tb's actually added I am looking to make some big upgrades power wise and the normal bolt on exhaust and intake dont seem to change much on these I asume the exhaust does not help much because the tb is what is choking the engine most and I figure with the much better intake flow not to mention acurate air to fuel ratio with the individual tb setup it should then lean on the exhaust as the power robber making it worth spending the money. What are your thoughts of making big power out of this 1000
52mph? My XTZ out of the crate, with a full windshield on it and canvas topper I have topped it out on the highway (with street tires) at 82 mph! The 18-wheeler I was behind looked at me like I came from mars when we came to a traffic light! Passing people in cars, you can see the look of surprize when this UTV screams past them!
